Hergarten Group relies on solar power

Together with CUBE CONCEPTS, the specialists for logistics, transport and storage of steel piece goods are implementing a 475 kWp photovoltaic system on one of their logistics halls in Neuss. By using climate-friendly technology, the company wants to set an example for the environment and invest far-sightedly in renewable energies.

400,000 kWh annual electricity production for own consumption

The Hergarten Group's PV system now produces a good 400,000 kWh with almost 1,400 solar modules, saving 190,000 kg of CO₂ per year. The 10,000 m² building houses eight crane systems and numerous sawing and processing machines.

Climate-friendly technology also for the vehicle fleet from solar power

The company uses most of the solar power itself and employs modern electricity storage systems. In addition, the lighting in the 45,000 m² warehouse area has been converted to economical LED technology and the 30 company cars in the company fleet are to be gradually converted to hybrid and electric vehicles. Corresponding charging points have already been installed at the Group's headquarters.

Looking to the future with vision

"By investing in renewable energy, we are making a statement during the pandemic that we will not lose sight of the important issue of climate protection despite all the economic turbulence," says Managing Partner Marcel Hergarten.
