The Development of CUBE CONCEPTS

We are further expanding our project pipeline in Eastern Europe and securing additional photovoltaic projects in the Czech Republic. At the same time, international growth is being driven forward: the sales team at the Palma de Mallorca location is being expanded in a targeted manner to meet the rising demand even better.

CUBE CONCEPTS wins additional investors for its fast-growing portfolio in Eastern Europe. This creates the financial prerequisites to implement photovoltaic and battery storage projects even faster, more scalably, and securely in the long term.

We are setting the course for further growth: the sales team is being restructured, sales processes optimized, and digitalization systematically driven forward. In addition, targeted training programs are being established and the team is being expanded with new personnel to serve customers even more efficiently and individually.

For WP Holding, we started work on a nearly 1 MWp off-grid system and a 2 MW battery storage system. Additionally, we have completed the implementation of a scalable, cost-efficient energy system for fleet electrification – including the sizing for 4 electric trucks and two 400 kW dual chargers.

In Raskovice, we started our first battery storage system project (BESS) with an capacity of over 3 MWh. This expanded our portfolio with a key component of the energy transition.

Our technical team welcomed a new COO and began the next phase with fresh momentum. At the same time, we introduced new, more efficient processes and digitized workflows. The internal Summer Exchange in Mallorca provided for professional exchange and team spirit. It was a complete success, with a full program and plenty of space for interactions outside of the office routine.

With the change in management, we have also restructured our finance team to be ready for the future. With the addition of new personnel, we have created a solid foundation for the next major projects.

The new digital team is now making internal processes more efficient and automating processes – new ways for creative ideas, innovation, and sustainable growth.

With the opening of our office in Prague, we further expanded our presence in Eastern Europe. In parallel, we increased the staffing levels in the HR and Legal departments.

We have once again expanded our already strong partner network and acquired another experienced EPC and battery service provider. This has now made us even more professional and efficient in our ability to successfully realize future PV projects.

Portfolios 2 and 3 were successfully sold to an established refinancier, increasing the volume to over 35 million euros. This strategic sale strengthens the financial position and opens up additional opportunities for further development.

5MW at two sites have been signed for a global manufacturer of carbon-based materials, specializing in graphite products and composite materials for various industries such as automotive, aerospace and chemical.

We are very pleased to be able to bring to life a framework agreement with one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers. As part of this successful partnership, we will begin implementing photovoltaic systems at four locations this year, thereby making a significant contribution to sustainable energy supply.

New German-British partnership:

Olympus Power and CUBE CONCEPTS are developing international PV projects together.

We are proud to ring in the new year with our new German-British partnership! With OLYMPUS POWER LTD, we have gained a wonderful partner to realize large-scale international PV projects with a planned volume of 500 MWp!

Cube Concepts has signed an important framework agreement with a strategic partner from the automotive supplier industry. The North American automotive supplier operates worldwide. 

Ground-breaking ceremony for the SCHÄFER WERKE Group's 2 MWp solar park

The ground-breaking ceremony for the largest ground-mounted PV system in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district to date has taken place.

A photovoltaic system will be built on an area of around 11,500 square meters to the north-east of the SCHÄFER site. Up to 4,560 solar modules will generate an output of approx. 2,000 kWp. This will cover around a third of the total electricity requirement.

During the CUBE CONCEPTS Exchange Meetings, all employees from Germany and Spain were able to exchange ideas in person in Mallorca, through varied and interactive sessions.

In mid-September, a 13 MW PV system was presented on the roofs of a steelworks as Contracting a pilot project and is now being planned and built.

We are celebrating the largest individual achievement so far.
In this and the following years, we will be installing PV systems for an internationally operating plant construction company.
The start is with 2 locations in southern Germany with a total of over 5.5 MW.

And our new website goes online. The team is finally growing and more than 30 people are present at our kick-off meeting.

What a year!

While the target in January 2022 was still 20 MW of sales, at the end of the year we were proud to have signed contracts for PV projects totaling 60 MW.

Our technical team continues to grow and highly experienced employees support us in the implementation of PV projects.

Nowadays, the PV systems are so large and so complex that the planning software used is reaching its limits.

Just for one large customer from southern Germany, two team members are busy planning and calculating for a week.
On the hottest day of the year, we move into our new office

June, which is the month of photovoltaics, is going to continue exactly the same way.
PV systems with a volume of almost 11 MW are planned and presented

The team and the projects are becoming increasingly international; - PV plants in England are being planned and are expected to be built in 2023.

An existing Contracting customer wants to use PV electricity at another location as well, and a 1.8 MW plant is planned as the largest Contracting installation at that time.

The first company-wide kick-off meeting takes place at the end of January and brings massive momentum to sales and the entire company.
The sales process is converted to teams and 3 new employees start in sales and technology.

CUBE PLUS is established as a supplement to CUBE DESIGN & BUILD

Another large chemical company is acquired as a customer and a – in the meantime – small installation of 100 kWp is built.

The first large solar carport with approximately 400 kWp is planned and the building permit is being prepared. Another Contracting installation with 400 kWp is being built.
Negotiations are now also being held with the chemical company from Witten regarding the construction of photovoltaic systems in Austria and Great Britain.

The position of CFO is filled, EIGENSTROM DIREKT now officially becomes CUBE CONCEPTS GmbH and the new website goes online. The closing with SUSI PARTNERS takes place on September 10. The idea of CUBE Vision as a dedicated dashboard for monitoring PV systems is implemented

The first order for the construction of a photovoltaic system in Spain is placed. The Solar Carport is now ready for market and will be presented to the first customers.
Due to stalled financing negotiations, no new PV installations will be built for the first time, and due to the upcoming election, large-scale projects from customers will be postponed.

The team in Spain is being expanded and gaining momentum with the addition of additional (sales) employees. Initial discussions with SUSI Partners begin to fund our Contracting facilities.
To meet the reporting requirements, internal accounting must be strengthened professionally.
In parallel, the development of the solar carport is now well underway.
Five additional photovoltaic systems are being built and put into operation as purchase-based projects.

The largest PV system to date with 750 kWp is being built and will be put into operation on March 31st. It is therefore one of the last systems in Germany of the size required by the EEG.
In Spain, a planning and engineering department is being established in parallel.

The planning department becomes the technology department and is strengthened in terms of personnel. Other areas of the company, such as administration and marketing, have to be massively expanded.

In Spain, the first employee is hired to conduct market research, and the EEG 2021 comes into effect.

The internal sales department is being further expanded with additional staff in research, acquisition and sales. Consequently, digitalization must also be expanded, as the project volume covers almost 100 PV systems.

The next PV plant with approximately 200 kWp is being built and commissioned virtually „at your doorstep“. For the first time, the entire construction of the plant, including drone flights, is documented due to the walking distance.

First collaborations, e.g. with the manufacturer of an automated energy and production optimization system, are launched. This expands our service offering and our range of expertise.

The Contracting-Modell Eigenstrom Direkt model is finalized; external distributors – also for the sale of project-based systems – are connected.
The 3rd PV plant is commissioned and Clean Energy Invest is founded

We move into our first office, our "garage", on May 2, while at the same time acquiring further customers. The first website and other marketing materials are developed

During the first lockdown, the business idea is further promoted and developed with partners from NRW, while financing for the first PV installation is secured.
It is decided to establish Eigenstromdirekt GmbH

Together with the investment partner PIE Palace Independent Energy GmbH, Frankfurt has decided to build the first photovoltaic system with approximately 220 kWp.
