Start of construction for large-scale solar carport project

The new large-scale solar carport project impressively demonstrates how parking spaces and outdoor storage areas can be covered for highly efficient energy generation without reducing the size of the parking spaces.

In Schwäbisch Hall, the first construction work for a Large-scale solar carport project started by Elektro Genk and ROOF+*. The foundations have already been laid. Four rows of parking spaces, each 60 meters long, will be covered and equipped with effective solar modules.

Only a few foundations are sufficient for the wide-span construction and five supports spread over 60 meters ensure stability with the robust and durable girders.

The first visible progress has already been made: the foundations have been laid. What's special about this construction is the enormous wingspan. On a length of 60 meters each, the beams cover four complete rows of parking spaces. Only five supports are sufficient to stably bear the entire structure.

For companies, this is a crucial advantage: The Size of the parking bays remains fully intact, and maneuvering remains possible due to the minimal number of supports. The robust and durable beams ensure the highest safety and resistance to environmental influences.

A scalable system for industry and commerce

The prototype used here has already proven itself in the planning phase and is convincing with its free scalability. Whether in height or in area – the system can be individually adapted to the local conditions. This makes the solution suitable not only for car parking spaces but also offers enormous potential for:

  • The roofing of Outdoor and dry storage.
  • Weather protection for Loading ramps and access roads.
  • Large-scale Shelters on depots.

Clean energy without land use

With the installation of highly efficient solar modules, a simple roof covering becomes an active component of the energy transition. This allows companies to gain valuable roof space for self-generated power without having to seal additional open areas.
