CUBE CONCEPTS and Olympus Power want to jointly realize commercial photovoltaic plants in the UK and Europe with a total volume of 500 MWp within the next three years.
Olympus Power, known in the UK for its expertise in developing large-scale commercial renewable energy projects on manufacturing sites, retail parks and industrial sites, has agreed a strategic partnership with German PV project developer CUBE CONCEPTS.
CUBE CONCEPTS and Olympus Power have already identified numerous European PV development projects and expect to implement 500 MWp together within the next three years. The two companies are well aligned as they both offer, for example, Power Purchase Agreements as an attractive and affordable solution for large companies and corporations to benefit from favorable and stable electricity prices and reduce their carbon footprint.
Simon Nicholls, CEO of Olympus Power: "We are very excited about this partnership. Our two companies offer a comprehensive service in the design and installation of solar and energy storage systems, as well as business finance options, so we are a great fit. More and more of the customers we work with have multiple sites, not just in the UK but across Europe, so partnering with such customer-focused providers makes perfect sense."
Jochen Schäfer, Chief Investment Officer of CUBE CONCEPTS, is also looking forward to the collaboration: "We are pleased to have a strong and like-minded partner in the markets where our international clients demand an identical service to the one we already offer in our core territory. The new partner's many years of experience and solid track record, combined with our strong international customer base, will help this partnership to increase our joint market presence."
Olympus Power and CUBE CONCEPTS have already developed a joint project in the UK, a large solar installation on the roof of a production warehouse complex that is expected to generate 450,000 kWh per year, which will significantly reduce the company's electricity costs and save 211 tons of CO₂ annually.
The two companies are launching the collaboration with a knowledge exchange, during which two members of the Olympus Power team will be introduced at the CUBE CONCEPTS headquarters in Kaarst near Düsseldorf in January.
The processes involved in implementing solar installations on commercial and industrial roofs differ significantly between the UK and Germany, and the Olympus Power team is keen to learn and understand the complex German grid connection process first. CUBE CONCEPTS staff will also be visiting the Olympus Power team in the south west of the UK later this year.
The long-term partnership will benefit clients in particular, who will then have one point of contact for the entire expertise of both companies.
Olympus Power and CUBE CONCEPTS anticipate a steady increase in partner projects as more and more international companies across Europe implement renewable energy systems to offset rising energy costs and achieve their sustainability goals.
