Kickoff 2025: Growth & inspiration

With creative workshops and team events, CUBE CONCEPTS set the course for a successful year 2025 in January. The events fostered mutual understanding across departments and created a motivating foundation for the shared mission of „Growth“.

The start of 2025 could not have been better for CUBE CONCEPTS. With over 30 CUBIES, including the management, almost everyone made their way to a snowy Winterberg to start our Kickoff 2025 in a specially rented guest house. A long weekend full of inspiration, team spirit and unforgettable moments.

The journey on January 9th was an experience in itself. The company vehicles were loaded in Kaarst, and after an exciting drive through a snowy NRW, all the CUBIES arrived at our quiet and cozy accommodation in the evening, full of anticipation. After a hearty dinner together, we relaxed the day away at the in-house bar. It was the perfect start to a special weekend.

Workshops & racing to kick things off

After a hearty breakfast and a large dose of motivation on Friday, we went straight into high gear. In interdepartmental workshops, we focused on one of the central themes for our company. Mutual understanding, optimization of internal communication, and processes were on the agenda. The team discussed lively, laughed together, and, above all, worked creatively on solutions. This is how collaboration in everyday life is meant to work even better.

After so much brainwork, it was time for action. True to the motto „CUBIES on Track,“ we headed to a go-kart track in the afternoon, where all employees could prove themselves in a joint race. Pure adrenaline and tons of fun were guaranteed here! The evening was much quieter, but no less sociable: we cooked, laughed, and shared our experiences from the day in casual groups.

Setting the course for 2025, snow trip and barbecue seminar

The next day began early and motivated with further workshops. This time, the theme was „how can we continue to grow healthily and drive CUBE CONCEPTS forward?“. Ideas flowed, perspectives were shared, and the creativity of our teams impressed us all. In the afternoon, another highlight awaited: a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy landscape of Winterberg, which seemed like something out of a winter fairy tale. Afterwards, we fortified ourselves with a cozy lunch at a horse farm before heading back to the guesthouse.

But the day was far from over: the afternoon and evening were all about knowledge, fun and enjoyment. First, we tested our specialist knowledge in the relaxed and cheerful "CUBIES know-how quiz" before plunging into a barbecue seminar. There was a lot to learn about meat science, and grilling our own steaks afterwards was a culinary highlight.

Kickoff for the "Growth" mission with Kickoff 2025

Sunday was all about workshop reflection and the growth mission. With new ideas, strengthened team spirit and inspiring moments, all CUBIES made their way home to Kaarst on Sunday afternoon after a productive weekend. Kickoff 2025 was not only the perfect start to the year, but also a wonderful example of what we can achieve together. With this energy, we are looking forward to a year full of exciting projects, collaboration and success - CUBE CONCEPTS, we are ready!

EU Electricity Market Reform: Germany's Implementation of CfDs, PPAs & EEG

By July 2026, Germany must transpose EU regulations into national law, bringing about profound changes in the Electricity Industry Act (EnWG) and the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The focus will be on transforming solar and wind energy support mechanisms to Contracts for Difference (CfDs) and the widespread implementation of dynamic electricity tariffs.

Rising redispatch costs

Rising redispatch costs

The rapidly rising redispatch costs highlight the bottleneck of Germany's energy transition: a lack of transmission capacity prevents the transport of green electricity from the north. This leads to billions in charges for grid fees and forces grid operators to curtail clean wind power, while fossil fuel power plants in the south fill the gaps.
