1 MWp photovoltaic system for Purem by Eberspächer in Rakovník

CUBE CONCEPTS is implementing a 1 MWp photovoltaic system for Purem by Eberspächer in Rakovník. The system generates around 970,000 kWh of solar electricity per year and achieves an average self-consumption rate of about 87 percent.

Around 970,000 kWh of solar power per year for the industrial site in the Czech Republic

At the location of Purem by Eberspächer in Rakovník, Czech Republic, The photovoltaic system implemented by CUBE CONCEPTS has gone into operation. The system has an installed output of about 1 MWp and it will generate, in the future, for example 970,000 kWh of solar electricity per year.

On a roof area of approximately 4,760 m² more than 2,000 photovoltaic modules installed. The implementation was carried out in collaboration with our EPC partner Atlantis EPC.

The facility was built by Vít Hlaváček, Business Development CEE at CUBE CONCEPTS, and Michal Zechovský, CEO of Purem by Eberspächer, put into operation together.

Photovoltaic system for high self-consumption

When planning the plant, the focus was not solely on maximum power generation; rather, what was crucial was how much of the generated solar power could be used directly at the production site by Purem.

The round 1-MWp photovoltaic system the energy requirements and load patterns of the plant were specifically tailored to it. This allows Purem to use a large part of the generated solar power directly on-site.

The result is one Self-consumption rate of around 87 percent. The solar electricity generated is thus used predominantly where it is produced – directly in the production facility.

Photovoltaic system in numbers

  • Approximately 1 MWp installed power
  • More than 2,000 photovoltaic modules
  • 4,760 m² roof area
  • Around 970,000 kWh of solar electricity per year
  • Approximately 87 % self-consumption rate
  • Up to 14% self-sufficiency

In this way, the plant makes an important contribution to the use of renewable energy at the Rakovník site and enables Purem by Eberspächer to generate and consume part of the electricity needed directly on its own factory premises.

Why self-consumption is crucial for industrial plants

Industrial and production sites often have a high and continuous electricity demand. This creates a great potential for using the generated solar electricity directly for production processes and ongoing operations.

This is where the planning of CUBE CONCEPTS begins. Each photovoltaic system is tailored to the individual conditions of the respective location. In addition to the available roof area, the electricity consumption and its temporal pattern play an important role.

At Purem in Rakovník, the planning has taken into account the existing load flow of the plant. This results in a combination of high solar power generation and a high proportion of direct Own consumption.

Successful cooperation in the Czech Republic

Together with our EPC partner Atlantis EPC the project was successfully implemented. The participating teams took the round 1 MWp installation at the Rakovník site, then put into operation.

We would like to thank Michal Zechovský, Ivana Lacková and Jakub Pohlot from Purem by Eberspächer for the trust and the good cooperation. Our thanks also go to Miroslav Calda and Radek Culek from Atlantis EPC for the successful implementation of the project.

With the new photovoltaic system, the Rakovník site generates around 970,000 kWh of renewable solar power per year. The project demonstrates the potential of industrial roof surfaces when photovoltaic technology is consistently adapted to the actual energy needs of a company.

CUBE CONCEPTS: Photovoltaics for industry and commerce

CUBE CONCEPTS develops and implements photovoltaic and battery storage solutions for companies and industrial sites. In doing so, we consider not only the installed power of an installation, but the entire energy system of the respective site.

Our goal is to design photovoltaic systems in a way that allows companies to use the generated solar power as efficiently as possible – with a special focus on Self-consumption, cost-effectiveness and the individual requirements of the respective company.

The photovoltaic system at Purem by Eberspächer in Rakovník demonstrates how industrial roof surfaces can be used to generate renewable energy and at the same time achieve a high self-consumption rate.
