Thanks to IEPD™, corporations with branches and subsidiaries or large companies with various industrial and commercial buildings are no longer tied to dimensioning the respective PV systems to the electricity consumption of the individual site, but can use all the space available to them to produce electricity in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. This reduces costs for the residual electricity purchase and the Group-wide CO₂ emissions. This means, for example, that even remote alternative or fallow land can be used to save the expensive CO₂ certificate purchase to a minimum restrict and improve the environmental performance of the company as a whole.

IEPD™ as a simple solution for cross-location power supply for companies

Technically, a cross-location power supply for companies is made possible by the formation of balancing groups possible. For this purpose, balancing group accounts are set up with the transmission system operator (TSO), supplier framework agreements are drawn up with the distribution system operator and the energy feed-in points are defined. Using daily forecasts and the consumption of all participants measured every quarter of an hour, a balancing group manager monitors and controls such a balancing group. If the PV system and consumer are a maximum of 4.5 km away as the crow flies, there is no additional electricity tax for the transmission of PV electricity from a system under 2 MWp. If the distances are greater, IEPD™ applies.
