										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Following the successful commissioning of the PV system in summer 2025, Thermal Management Solutions DE Oberboihingen GmbH is taking the next consistent step on its transformation path: Together with CUBE CONCEPTS, the company is now planning the implementation of an industrial <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/products/large-battery-storage/" type="page" id="19360">Large battery storage</a> (BESS) in the Contracting model. The goal is to further optimize the site’s energy supply, increase the self-consumption rate, and ensure long-term economic viability of carbon neutrality.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">From PV to BESS – the next stage for the energy transition</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the roof-mounted PV system installed in August 2025, the company has already reached a significant milestone. It has been supplying <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/green-electricity-for-tms-oberboihingen/" type="post" id="24031">Green electricity for thermal management solutions</a>, strengthens self-sufficiency and at the same time forms the technical basis for intelligent energy system integration.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Even during the initial project presentation, Managing Director Holger Kiebel announced that battery storage would be the logical next step to further increase energy efficiency and specifically manage peak loads. This very step is now being concretely prepared.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Impulse through Expert Webinars: Decision for BESS Concept</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The impetus for the detailed project planning was provided by the <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/webinars/">Webinars</a> from CUBE CONCEPTS on the topic of industrial battery storage systems. Participants Dieter Hehl and Albrecht Manz used the events to analyze technological, economic, and regulatory aspects of modern storage solutions.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The result was clear: a battery storage system can not only make PV surpluses usable in an efficient way, but also unlock additional economic potential – for example, through peak load shaving, grid fee optimization, or, in the future, participation in flexibility markets. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Contracting Model as a Strategic Advantage</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The planned implementation will follow the proven Contracting approach. This model makes it possible to integrate a BESS, including an EMS, without any upfront investment costs, while also benefiting from predictable electricity costs and professional operation. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The battery storage system represents the third building block of a clearly structured sustainability strategy at Thermal Management Solutions DE Oberboihingen GmbH. After initial implementation of efficiency and optimization measures, as well as compensation projects in operations, followed by the in-house generation of electricity through a photovoltaic system, the energy system is now being flexibly expanded through the use of a storage system. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is making the Oberboihingen site an increasingly prominent example of industrial decarbonization in practice. As a manufacturer of high-quality thermostat and temperature control technology under the WAHLER brand, the company combines technological precision with sustainable action – while simultaneously strengthening its competitiveness in a changing energy market.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Transformation consistently thought through</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the planned BESS integration, Thermal Management Solutions is consistently continuing its course: moving from individual efficiency measures towards a holistic energy system. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On September 11, 2025, Purem Rakovník spol. s.r.o. in Rakovník, Czech Republic, and CUBE CONCEPTS took a significant step towards a sustainable energy supply. As part of a festive contract signing ceremony, the collaboration to implement a nearly [power output value] PV rooftop system was launched. <strong>1 MWp (999.58 kWp)</strong>. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">970,640 kWh of green electricity annually for Purem Rakovník</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The facility will have an area of <strong>4,760 m²</strong> take and with <strong>2,438 Modules</strong> equipped. The expected annual production <strong>970,640 kWh electricity</strong> covers a large part of the energy demand directly on-site. Around <strong>87 % of the energy generated </strong>uses Purme<strong> immediately on site</strong>, only <strong>126.169 kWh</strong> flow into the public grid. Thus, the project not only contributes to energy efficiency but also to independence from external electricity procurement.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">500 tons of CO₂ savings</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Particularly impressive are the effects on climate protection. The photovoltaic system avoids around <strong>494.971 kilograms of CO₂ emissions</strong> – that's almost <strong>500 tons</strong>. This will in the future <strong>15% of total production at the site is climate-neutral</strong> enables.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Purem Rakovník as another building block for climate neutrality</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The commitment of Purem Rakovník is part of an overarching strategy of <strong>Purem by Eberspächer</strong>. How the European operations will be made climate-neutral step by step. CUBE CONCEPTS was also allowed to, prior to this <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/19-mwp-solar-power-purem-by-eberspaecher/">Work in Dresden</a> with a <strong>2 MWp photovoltaic system</strong> equip. With the new project in Rakovník, this path continues consistently. And it shows how partnership and technological competence lead to sustainable success.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Contract signing in Rakovník</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph translation-block">The partners met in person in Rakovník to sign the contract: <strong>Michal Zechovský and Ivana Lacková</strong> represented Purem Rakovník, <strong>Vit Hlavacek</strong> represented CUBE CONCEPTS, and <strong>Miroslav Calda</strong> was on site as a representative of the implementing company, ATLANTIS. During this event, not only was a contract signed, but the foundation was also laid for a joint Vision project. The planned photovoltaic system symbolizes a partnership that prioritizes sustainability, innovation, and responsibility—paving the way for a climate-friendly future.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As in <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/19-mwp-solar-power-purem-by-eberspaecher/">Purem by Eberspaecher</a>r in Wilsdruff or <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/schafer-works-with-a-large-solar-park/">SCHÄFER Works</a> in Neunkirchen, our client could <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/green-electricity-for-tms-oberboihingen/">TMS</a> in Oberboihingen, a large-scale photovoltaic system has now been officially inaugurated. On around 3,500 square meters of roof space, almost 1,000 solar modules are now generating green electricity, covering about 35 percent of the company's annual needs. TMS is thus certified as a CO₂-neutral operation – a strong signal for climate protection, competitiveness, and commitment to the location.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Our New Project Marketing: Making Sustainability Visible</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the commissioning of the PV system, we also celebrated another building block for our new project marketing. In collaboration with CUBE CONCEPTS, a comprehensive photovoltaic project is being developed at the Oberboihingen site. The goal is to strengthen self-sufficiency with environmentally friendly electricity, significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, and secure long-term competitiveness.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Rooftop solar PV system</strong></h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The photovoltaic system was officially inaugurated on August 14, 2025, as part of a symbolic ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Managing Director Holger Kiebel, Head of Quality &amp; Environment Lars Petry, Mayor of Oberboihingen Ulrich Spangenberg, Managing Director of Südwestmetall District Group Neckar-Fils Ralph Wurster, and representatives from CUBE CONCEPTS.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A total of 986 solar modules were installed on a roof area of approximately 5,800 m².</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Thermal Management Solutions DE Oberboihingen GmbH on their path to climate-neutral production at the Oberboihingen site:</strong></h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With its roof-mounted photovoltaic system, CUBE CONCEPTS aims to make Thermal Management Solutions DE Oberboihingen GmbH more independent from rising electricity prices. As a world-leading manufacturer of thermostat and oil temperature regulators for the automotive and commercial vehicle industries under the ‚Wahler‘ brand, the company focuses not only on product quality but also on its ecological footprint.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The PV system is the final piece of the puzzle, alongside several avoidance, reduction, and offsetting projects, on the path to climate-neutral production at the Oberboihingen site. The company has already been confirmed by the certification body TCS (Technical Certification Services GmbH) on July 7, 2025, for the successful implementation of CO₂-neutral production. By using green PV electricity, the Oberboihingen plant will continue to be a strong partner for its customers in the future and further expand its competitive advantages. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With this commitment, Thermal Management Solutions DE Oberboihingen GmbH underscores its responsibility for the environment and society, and relies on innovative energy partnerships to ensure the long-term sustainability and efficiency of the site.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Voices on the PV Project</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mayor of Oberboihingen <strong>Ulrich Spangenberg</strong> is pleased about the CO₂-neutral electricity production on the existing roof areas of the Oberboihingen-based traditional company: „With this extraordinary commitment, Thermal Management Solutions has built what is probably the largest photovoltaic system on an existing building in Oberboihingen. Especially at energy-intensive industrial sites, using roof areas for electricity production for self-consumption and for feeding into the general power grid is an important step to save CO₂ in a sensible and sustainable way.“ He hopes that other companies will follow this example. Ultimately, he is convinced, this will also be an important factor in terms of the necessary resilience to changes in the electricity and energy markets.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Purem by Eberspächer plant in Wilsdruff near Dresden has put a new photovoltaic system into operation. The company is thus setting another milestone on the road to CO₂-neutral production. The symbolic commissioning took place at the beginning of April 2025 in the presence of Mayor Ralf Rother, Plant Manager Stefan Müller and representatives of CUBE CONCEPTS.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A good 9,000 m² of the roof surface of the imposing building has been fitted with more than 4,500 modules by the photovoltaic experts from CUBE CONCEPTS in recent months. The system produces almost 1,900 MWh of electricity per year, much of which is used directly by the site. This saves the plant more than 850 tons of CO₂ per year. The aim is to further expand the number of PV systems in Europe by 2026 and to establish a sustainable energy supply worldwide by 2030.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Background: Wilsdruff plant</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Wilsdruff site is part of the Global Footprint of <a href="https://www.purem.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Purem by Eberspächer</a>a specialist for exhaust and acoustic systems. Highly efficient exhaust aftertreatment systems are developed and produced here, which meet the strictest emission requirements such as the Euro 7 standard. The site supplies leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in Europe.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sustainability at Eberspächer</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <a href="https://www.eberspaecher.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Eberspächer</a> Group is pursuing the goal of making its production CO₂-neutral by 2030. The company already uses green electricity at all of its German sites and at half of its plants worldwide. By 2026, 60% of energy consumption worldwide is to come from renewable sources. Photovoltaic systems are a central component of the sustainability measures.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On <strong>Mönchengladbach Airport</strong> is the <a href="https://www.mgl.de/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Airport company</a> has been active as an operating company since 1956 and manages around 22,000 m² of usable building space. In addition to numerous players in the aviation industry, these include service providers, service and maintenance companies, suppliers, the Federal Police and companies from other sectors of the economy.<br><br>In addition to the "SkyCab" research project for CO₂-neutral drives, the PV system from CUBE CONCEPTS is an important component of the "climate-neutral flying" project at Mönchengladbach Airport. The low-cost green electricity is used to charge vehicles on the tarmac and cover around 20 % of MGL's total electricity requirements.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Self-consumption is 99% and the PV system saves 67,570kg of CO₂ per year. In addition, the current electricity production can be <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/products/cube-vision/">CUBE Vision</a> can be read directly in the airport terminal.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Clean energy has been flowing from the roofs of Pfefferkorn in Simmern since the end of September 2022. The new 749-kWp PV system was implemented together with CUBE CONCEPTS and has been reliably supplying low-cost solar power ever since. A good 3,700 square meters of 2,204 solar modules were installed on the production halls in the weeks beforehand.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">An important contribution to environmental protection</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"This is the next logical step for our environment," says a delighted Ralf Gabler, Managing Director of Pfefferkorn. "We can use around 450,000 kWh directly in our buildings and also feed around 210,000 kWh into the public grid. We are thus making an important contribution to environmental protection," says Gabler. The photovoltaic system alone now saves the company 350,000 kg of CO₂ every year.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pfefferkorn relies on the latest technologies</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Hunsrück-based industrial company is aware of its responsibility towards the environment and has already converted parts of its company fleet to e-cars. <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/products/charging-infrastructure/">E-charging stations</a> installed on the company premises. In order to further reduce CO₂ emissions and the consumption of energy and resources <a href="https://verschluss.de/pfefferkorn/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Peppercorn</a> also relies on the latest technologies and consistently replaces old machines with new, efficient systems.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Environmentally friendly energy generation for the future</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"A photovoltaic system is the logical consequence of our efforts to make a contribution to environmental protection and we are delighted to be able to play our part in environmentally friendly energy generation," explained the Pfefferkorn management when the PV roof system was put into operation.</p>

<p>More and more companies are switching to an autonomous, clean energy supply using their own wind, water and, above all, photovoltaic systems. Although not immediately autonomous, Matthias Ellinger (PA/FCM), Head of Facility Management at Syntegon in Crailsheim, opted for a power supply at the site that also takes the environment into account. Following last year's regional heating concept, a photovoltaic system has now been installed on the roof of building 120. </p>

<p>Last fall, FCM and HSE jointly considered whether a PV system would make sense and looked for a suitable provider.  "We found CUBE CONCEPTS, from whom we didn't buy the photovoltaic system outright, but rented it for 20 years," says Matthias. The power supply directly on our own premises is a win-win situation for us and Cube Concepts. Matthias explains: "We get cheap, clean electricity and CUBE CONCEPTS doesn't have to find another area for their PV system, which they would also have had to pay for." This is how the <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/products/photovoltaics-on-roof-surfaces/">Photovoltaic system on the roof</a> building 120 in Crailsheim, which was inaugurated in the second quarter of the financial year. Our purchasing and legal departments got the contract off the ground. "The great thing is that from now on we don't have to hope for clear sunshine, as the system can also absorb solar energy when the sky is overcast," explains Matthias. With around 400,000 kWh per year, 95 to 99 percent of which is fed into our plant, it will now produce around 9 percent of our electricity consumption at the site.</p>

<p>"Thanks to the <a href="https://cubeconcepts.de/en/services/why-photovoltaics/">Photovoltaic system</a> even more carbon dioxide can be saved at the site, which will also reduce the syntegon-wide carbon footprint." The FCM and HSE team is celebrating even more successes. "We have the<strong> complete CO₂ annual target </strong>for 2022 with the help of the annex<strong> realized, </strong>which also benefits the Syntegon 2025 goals." Matthias is proud of the team and the positive impact the construction has had. "Of course, we will also continue to drive forward and implement further points in the direction of environmental protection."</p>

<p>Photovoltaic systems are also to be built on other roofs at the site in the future. However, some roofs need to be renovated first. The planned new buildings were planned from the outset with roofs that are suitable for PV systems. "This will allow us to expand the system in the future," says Matthias. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Die neue Photovoltaikanlage wurde bereits in Betrieb genommen und liefert rund 1.180.000 kWh kWh Strom im Jahr. Sieben Monate hat die erste Projektphase insgesamt gedauert. Baubeginn war Ende 2021, die Fertigstellung musste dann aber Anfang des 2022 aufgrund des Schnees kurzzeitig unterbrochen werden. Der zweite Bauabschnitt der PV-Anlage konnte im April 2024 in Betrieb genommen werden. Nun ist die neue Solaranlage offiziell abgenommen, in Betrieb und liefert zuverlässige Solarenergie.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">95 % of solar energy is used for direct consumption</h2>
<p></p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Insgesamt 3.100 Solarmodule wurden auf dem Dach der Werkshallen installiert, die die Sonnenstrahlen in elektrischen Strom umwandeln. Durch acht Wechselrichter wird der erzeugte Gleichstrom dann zu Wechselstrom verarbeitet – und somit direkt für den Einsatz im Werk von Yanfeng nutzbar gemacht. Über 95 Prozent der erzeugten Solarenergie werden direkt im Werk verbraucht. Besteht im Werk weniger Bedarf für die Einspeisung der Solarenergie, wird diese ins lokale Stromnetz der Stadtwerke Neustadt eingespeist. Rund 413 Tonnen Kohlendioxid werden im Jahr mit Hilfe der neuen Anlage eingespart.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Goal: Climate neutrality by 2030</h2>
<p></p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">„By switching to climate-neutral solar energy production, we can carry out our manufacturing processes in a more environmentally friendly and resource-conserving way,“ explains Gunnar Büchter, Executive Director Procurement &amp; Strategy at Yanfeng in Europe. „Energy and emission savings at our locations are an important measure for achieving the self-imposed goals of our sustainability strategy and our ambition to produce climate-neutrally in our plants by 2030.“</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A study by the BMWi confirms that electricity costs account for around 70 percent of total energy costs in industry. In addition, companies are increasingly being asked to achieve CO₂-neutral production across the entire supply chain. "From an economic point of view, it is therefore profitable to use as much electricity from renewable energies as possible. Solar power allows you to permanently reduce your costs, increase your efficiency and therefore remain attractive to existing and potential customers." The company will also take over the operation, maintenance and servicing of the system for the entire duration of the contract. With the new photovoltaic system, Yanfeng is achieving a pioneering milestone in the transition to climate-neutral energy production at the Neustadt site. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Hergarten Group's PV system now produces a good 400,000 kWh with almost 1,400 solar modules, saving 190,000 kg of CO₂ per year. The 10,000 m² building houses eight crane systems and numerous sawing and processing machines.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Climate-friendly technology also for the vehicle fleet from solar power</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The company uses most of the solar power itself and employs modern electricity storage systems. In addition, the lighting in the 45,000 m² warehouse area has been converted to economical LED technology and the 30 company cars in the company fleet are to be gradually converted to hybrid and electric vehicles. Corresponding charging points have already been installed at the Group's headquarters.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Looking to the future with vision</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"By investing in renewable energy, we are making a statement during the pandemic that we will not lose sight of the important issue of climate protection despite all the economic turbulence," says Managing Partner Marcel Hergarten.</p>
